If you are confused, frustrated or overwhelmed it could be that you are using social media in a way that isn’t best for you. More isn’t always better but often a focused approach is.
Many people try to be everywhere but that’s not as effective as you think. The first step is to know what platform your target market uses most and post there. Get familiar and comfortable while posting consistently. Then you can branch out from there.
I recommend clients to start with one or two and then re-evaluate their strategy. Track your outcomes and effectiveness. If you need to pivot or change things up to get noticed – do it.
Posting isn’t the only thing you need to be doing. You want to engage. Remember it is social media so be social – vary your posts, respond to comments, thank commenters, ask for likes and shares, give direction if needed, be present, and finally – you don’t always need to be selling. Let people get to know you while you let them know what you have available for them. It’s a balanced approach that’s less frustrating for you and more positive for your audience.
