Do you feel you don’t have the right type of content? Are you unsure about what to post or how often? It’s a matter of balance.
You may have noticed that some small businesses will post several times a day and others will post something a few times a week. How do you know what’s best for you?
First, consider the commitment you are willing to make in posting. Can you truly post several times a day? Do you have the time to then engage with comments? Most solo entrepreneurs or small businesses don’t have that kind of time to put into social media engagement or posting, not to mention creating the content or curating content to share. Be honest with yourself – how much time are you ready to invest in social media. Once you know that set up your posting schedule around that time.
Working in a batch for the week and using scheduling options will make this time commitment easier. Putting this into your business calendar will help you stay on track. Some people find that having a schedule of posts – Mondays are about a certain topic, Tuesdays are about another, and so on – help them to create, curate, and track their content.
Once you have decided on the schedule of posting don’t forget that the other component to social media is engagement. This means returning to your posts to respond or thank individuals for comments. You don’t have to rush to respond immediately to comments but have another time slot in your calendar (maybe at the end of the day) to return to your posts.
Creating or curating content, posting, and engaging needs to fit into your schedule. It’s all about balance.
